Bubble tea is firmly established now in the UK, but there are still a huge number of people yet to try it and fall in love. That’s why we know our group of 30 company owned stores will soon become a franchise network of 300+ stores! In fact, with the right franchise partners onboard, we believe Bubble CiTea will become the market leading brand in every UK town and city.

Bubble tea is a VERY big thing in Asia – pretty much everyone loves it! Bubble tea, also known as pearl milk tea or boba tea, is a tea-based drink that originates from Taiwan. It features a base made from tea, fruit or milk and toppings at the bottom of the cup. The process of making the bubble tea is entirely handmade, starting from freshly brewed tea base, mixing with milk or fruit juices, then adding tasty toppings such as tapioca pearls, popping fruit boba, fruit jelly or puddings, and finally handshaking the drink vigorously. Really, it makes all other drinks seem boring by comparison. With so many adults in the UK either not drinking alcohol at all (39%) or actively cutting down (23%) bubble tea is gaining popularity as a delicious and fun alternative to the usual soft drinks available. According to an Allied Market Research report, the global bubble tea market generated $2.4 billion in 2019, and is expected to reach $4.3 billion by 2027!

Bubble CiTea is a British brand, producing unique bubble tea flavours which we have upgraded to meet local needs whilst keeping to the traditional core values of Taiwanese tea culture. CEO, Suneet Sachdeva discovered bubble tea whilst travelling Asia and Australia. Upon his return to the UK, he found himself craving the traditional, fresh flavours of the unique Taiwanese beverage. We proudly serve fresh fruit and milk teas and crushed ice drinks. Every season we adapt our special recipes to meet customers’ needs, providing customers with the ability to mix flavours of fruit teas and milk teas and coupled with the array of toppings that can be mix-and-matched. Bubble CiTea continues to excite customers and lead the fast-paced drinks market, as we provide a unique customer experience like no other! Our bubble tea is freshly prepared by hand and can be customised to your preference, from tea base to flavour, and sugar level to popping bubbles choices. About You

We are looking for great business operators who understands the importance of exceptional customer service and how to manage and train a great team! After that, we won’t be too prescriptive. Food experience is a bonus rather than a pre-requisite, but you will need to demonstrate a track record of business success. We have multi-site developer opportunities available, so we are happy to discuss ambitious plans if you have the relevant experience and resources.


About the Franchise


  • Use of the BUBBLE CI-TEA trademark, intellectual property & operations manual

  • Exclusive rights to operate the BUBBLE CI-TEA brand within an agreed premises and within a specified marketing territory

  • 5-year franchise agreement, renewable after 5 years at no additional charge (subject to prior approval from the Franchisor and signing a new franchise agreement)

  • 2-week initial induction training programme covering: brand values, operations manual, operating templates, use of operational software, customer service, training, sales and marketing, SEO optimization and business administration

  • Social media webpages and amazing digital content

  • Access to online franchise support forum

  • Centralised marketing support

  • At least 2 days onsite aftercare within your store upon opening

  • Access to our on-going support and development programmes which have been developed to help you accelerate the growth of your business especially in the crucial early stages

  • Access to nominated suppliers (food production, packaging, insurance, accountants, vehicle livery, branded merchandise etc.)

Launch Marketing: Franchise partners will require a minimum of £5k to be spent getting your business off to a strong start and build the brand in your local area. Franchise Fee: £15,000 + VAT Management Service Fee: 5% Marketing Service Fee: 2% Total investment for a kiosk (including working capital) will be in the region of £120k. Total investment for a bricks and mortar store (including working capital) will be in the region of £140k. We have great relationships with the major franchise banks such as HSBC, Lloyds, RBS & NatWest who may be able to lend you 50-70% of the total investment required (subject to your individual application). This means you may only require 30-50% of the total investment in the form of liquid capital, but however much or little you need to borrow, you will be required to present a very strong, personal business plan.
